Celebration of Life

GARY JOSEPH WACKER

Devoted Husband, Dedicated Father, Beloved Son, Cherished Brother, Loyal Friend

This Virtual Memorial Website serves as an infinite capsule, an ever-growing collection of the many cherished memories we all have of Gary.

The loss of Gary is immense, he had a profound impact on every life he touched, and will NEVER be forgotten.

I'm Always With You

So grieve me for a while, if grieve you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

That it is only for a while that we must part,

Treasure our memories together in your heart!

Gary Joseph Wacker

A Man Unlike Any Other

Gary Joseph Wacker of Gilbertsville, PA died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January, 14 2021.  He is survived by his loving wife and partner of over 30 years, Lisa Ann Varley-Wacker.  His life will be forever cherished by his children: Brianna Wacker and son-in-law Zachary Rubendall and Grace Wacker of Gilbertsville, PA; Wayne Clark and daughter-in-law Chelsie of Aurora, CO; Matthew Clark and daughter-in-law Brandi of Anthem, AZ; Tinamarie Clark and son-in-law David Rosenberg.  Gary was the best "Pop-Pop" in the world, his five grandchildren: Matthew, Aiden, Maximus, Lexington, and Bodhi will miss him dearly!

He was born in Norristown, PA to Joseph and Evelyn Wacker (Alba,) on June 18, 1964.  His mother sadly passed away when Gary was just 26 years old, and the family finds some comfort that they are at last reunited.  Gary is also survived by Judith McGinn (sister); Jay Wacker(brother) and wife Jill, of Pottstown PA.

Gary graduated from Bishop Kenrick, class of 1982.  He moved on and graduated from West Chester University in 1986.  After college graduation, Gary served his community for 32 years as a police officer, sergeant, and eventually detective before retiring from Towamencin Township Police Department.  Many of his law enforcement colleagues became family over the years.  They have many stories and fond memories working with and for Gary.

Gary loved his family and friends unconditionally.  He was loyal, caring, strong, and charming.  He loved all his children with his whole being, and he made sure they knew it.  Gary was the kind of dad that his kids knew they could count on, regardless of the circumstances.  He was the absolute best pop-pop and always went out of his way to spoil his grandkids.  He was both book and street smart, overprotective, but gentle.  He had a high moral code and he made sure his family was always taken care of first.

Gary enjoyed traveling to see family, going fishing, and shooting rounds at the range.  He loved warm weather and could always be found by the pool with a big smile on family vacations.  His laugh was contagious and will be missed immensely.

Most of all, Gary loved his wife Lisa and Lisa loved Gary.  Their love for each other was fierce.  There was nothing that Gary would not do for Lisa.  What they shared is simply indestructible, and although Gary has left this earth, the love between Gary and Lisa will never die.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on Earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

In Lieu of Flowers

Gary J. Wacker passed away on January 14, 2021 leaving behind his adoring wife, Lisa, their four adult children, and their minor child, Grace. The family is shocked and saddened by his loss and as Gary was the primary income generator they are not financially prepared by his tragic and unexpected death.

If you knew Gary, you’d know how much he loved his wife and kids.  It’s now our turn to give back and help Lisa and Grace as they deal with the loss of Gary. We are raising money to assist with Grace's education, memorial costs, and hospital expenses, as the family deals with this loss.
